Sidney, BC – Local Wine Kitz wins multiple awards
Exciting News!
In April, 2009, we (Derek and Donna) entered a selection of wine into the 2009 WineMaker International Amateur Wine Competition in Manchester, Vermont. There were 4,474 entries from 29 American States, 8 Canadian Provinces and 7 countries. Of the wines we had entered, we are pleased to announce that we received 4 Medal Awards!
The Award-Winning wines submitted by Wine Kitz in Sidney, B.C. are listed below:
- Elite Vintner Chenin Blanc/Chardonnay
- Elite Vintner custom blend white (designed by Derek and Donna)
- Elite Vintner Limited Release Chardonnay/Pinot Grigio
- Sommelier Reserve Limited Release South Australian Shiraz
Also, the following Wine Kitz wines were submitted by other Wine Kitz stores who received Medal Awards:
- Sommelier Reserve Stag’s Leap Merlot
- Sommelier Reserve Old Vines Zinfandel
- Sommelier Reserve Migliore
- Ultimate Estate Reserve Barolo

In July, 2009, we also entered a selection of wines into the 2009 Saanich Fair Wine Competition and obtained the following Awards:
- Best in Class Rosette Ribbon and Medal along with our names engraved on the “Hamilton Hops and Grapes Plaque” for “Best Fortified Wine.”
- Best in Class Rosette Ribbon and Medal along with our names engraved on the “Wine Art Trophy” for “Best Dry White Wine.”
- Medal and our names engraved on the “Redvers E. Smith Memorial Trophy” for “Most Points in Wine;” Wine Maker of the Year Award.
